Idea to Proto to Production.
Hi, my name is Randy Narciso, and I'm the co-founder of SoCal Hoops Basketball Academy, a 501c3 non-profit organization based in Porter Ranch, CA. the 360 Shooter was developed during the Covid-19 Stay At Home Mandate period, as families and businesses were forced to stay at home to flatten the curve of the novel Coronavirus pandemic. As a youth basketball coach, I was struggling with staying at home the entire day and began yearning to get back to the gym to play hoops with my two boys and all of my players. One day, my eldest son Reid asked me if we can find a place to shoot around, just like we did during The Combine Basketball Program.
The initial plan was to simply go to BIG5 and purchase an outdoor basketball goal, but the stores were closed and ordering online would have taken several weeks. More importantly, my Home Owner's Association (HOA) didn't allow the massive, water filled basketball goals to sit on my front sidewalk. Also, I didn't have an extra $500 to purchase the higher end models, the ones with wheels on it so I can roll it to the side of the house when I was done shooting hoops. My son simply wanted a basket where he can practice shooting to prepare for the upcoming HS season. As the lockdown period was extended each day, Reid encouraged me to "find a way" to allow him to practice shooting the ball. We decided to create a new training equipment focused on basketball and was fun for the entire family. We developed the 360 Shooter Basketball Goal. Together with Reid, we started to create mockup designs and initial product requirements. We discussed all of the features and capabilities we wanted to include such as a design that was adjustable, collapsible, and portable. Reid actually contributed significantly to the design as he verified all of the angles and lengths of The 360 Shooter (helpful that he is currently taking Geometry and Trigonometry at NDHS). He helped calculate the Sin, Cos, and Tan of the required angles and pole lengths. I remember him saying, "Never thought I would ever use the Pythagorean theorem in my life." After we created the designs, we found a local metal fabricator and the 360 Shooter was born! With the prototype built, we tested the 360 Shooter every day during the Stay at Home mandate. Every neighbor who passed by and saw us shooting hoops would comment that our basketball goal was very cool! After posting a few videos on Facebook, several friends commented that they loved my "homemade" basketball goal and wanted to know if I could make them one (they were willing to pay big bucks too). At that moment, I realized that Reid's idea of an adjustable, collapsible, and portable goal is what many people need. That's when I contacted my business partner and close friend Don Loperena who helped me flush out the business and operations strategy. As a P.E. Coach, Don recommended several enhancements and accessories that schools and sports programs need. We made several mockups and we tested them in real game situations with real basketball players. After finalizing all the add-ons, Don contacted his lawyer friends and immediately filed a patent on the design and functionality. He also contacted a few of his known off-shore suppliers and we shipped the schematics to one of his well known contractors. It was only fitting that Coach Don be a part of 360 Shooter as Reid's initial idea to "shoot outside" was a direct result of participating in Coach Don's shooting camps at The Basketball Combine Program. We've since made several prototypes and made lots of product enhancements. Many of my own family members have also contributed to improving the product features, build processes, and logistics. We're all excited to be able to provide such a great product that many families, athletes, trainers, coaches, and players can benefit from. We are are the early phase of finalizing our production plans. We've launched an Indiegogo campaign on 8/24 (in memory of Kobe Bryant). If our campaign is successful, we will donate 5% of our profits to MambaOn Three Fund, which exists to honor and support loved ones of the seven other victims involved in the tragedy that occurred on January 26, 2020. 360 Degree Design. The core design principle in developing the 360 Shooter was to incorporate a full 360 design to accommodate more players and change the playing dynamics of the game. Traditional half court basketball courts only allow a limited number of players on the court. With the 360 Shooter, you can play with any number of players ranging from 20+ on a single court, that's twice as many as a normal half court. We decided to remove the backboard, forcing players to shoot the ball with Nothin' But Net!

The World's First Adjustable, Collapsible, and Portable Goal for MULTI-SPORT PLAY
New GamesWith the the 360 Shooter, players are no longer limited to the space of the key and foul line. New games can be played that incorporate new rules, allowing players to utilize all the available space and 360 degree shooting angles. Games can be played on hardwood, concrete, asphalt, grass, artificial grass, sand, and dirt. BE CREATIVE AND USE YOUR IMAGINATION.
|
Family FunIt's proven that families have more fun and excitement playing with the 360 Shooter. Players are no longer waiting around for the ball to come to them. With the 360 design, everyone shoots the ball. Every family member can play and participate, using one or more basketballs. HAVE FUN AND ENJOY THE FAMILY TIME.

Multi-FunctionalMany people will use the 360 Shooter as the next generation basketball goal. With all of the accessories, you can play other games beyond just basketball including but not limited to frisbee, hand ball, kickball knockout, football target, baseball pitch, and ball toss. PLAY ANY GAME YOU CAN THINK OF.
|
AdjustableWe've incorporated a patent-pending design into the 360 Shooter. There is no other basketball goal in the market that can adjust to 10 feet, 9 feet, or 8 feet with a release of a few clamps. This allows coaches to lower the rim height based on appropriate ages and skill levels. PLAY THE GAME AT YOUR LEVEL.
|
CollapsibleSetting up and breaking down the 360 Shooter only takes 360 seconds or less, yes that's only 6 minutes. It can be setup in 3 minutes and broken down in the same amount of time. This is convenient for those times where you need an extra basketball goal and can't leave it up when you are done playing (like some HOA rules). BUILD IT UP AND TEAR IT DOWN.
|
PortableHave you ever tried to move one of those so called portable basketball goals on your own? In many cases, they are filled with water, sand, or concrete and weigh a ton. With the 360 Shooter, you can move it on your own and put it away for storage. To make it permanent, you can purchase some of our sandbags to weigh it down. MOVE IT, MOVE IT, MOVE IT.
|
360 Seconds. One of the key design criteria was to ensure the 360 Shooter can be setup and broken down in 360 seconds or less. That's right, 6 minutes for a single person to setup the 360 Shooter AND tear it down. So, we wanted to have the complete setup in less than 3 minutes and the complete breakdown in 3 minutes. We didn't want 3 people to build it, not 6 people to tear it down. We only wanted 1 person to do it all by himself!

The 360 shooter is a game changer for my students with various levels of Special Needs. Our Specially Designed P.E. classes benefit tremendously from the versatility of this product. The ability to adjust the rim height and lower it for our students who are working on developing their upper body strength allows them to experience the feeling of success by being able to make baskets. Ball tossing in the net helps out students practice their hand/eye coordination and keeps them from running around chasing the balls. We have limited space to run our classes so being able to also use it to tee up golf balls and baseballs allows the students a wide range of choices. The fact that it’s portable is the icing on the cake as we run our classes at different locations we can pack it up and move it easily. I would recommend this to any P.E. teacher and it is a great tool for Adaptive P. E. Teachers and teachers teaching Specially Designed P.E.”
