About.

We are a small team co-founded by Don Loperena, Reid Narciso, and Randy Narciso.  Together, the three rockstars came up with the idea and made several product improvements to transform a new basketball goal into a multi-functional sports unit that supports multiple sports including but not limited to basketball, hockey, frisbee, baseball, handball, and football.  During the last 3 prototype builds, Don and Randy experimented with various net options and configurations, while Reid verified all of the angles and lengths.  With all of the changes, we believe we have an amazing product that can address multiple market segments and provide fun activities for players, coaches, trainers, schools, and families.

Our Experience

Although both Coach Don and Coach Randy are sports fanatics, they are both serial entrepreneurs who have owned, managed, and launched multiple businesses. Don has over 25 years of basketball coaching experience along with teaching Physical Education (PE) at multiple schools including Monroe HS and Granada Hills HS. Coach Don has owned multiple businesses and service offerings, from custom printed apparel to awards and trophies (www.printmyjersey.com). He has also purchased and sold businesses and expanded operations all across the state of California.  Don achieved his bachelor's degree from Cal State University Northridge (CSUN) with an emphasis in Physical Education.

Randy has over 25 years of professional business experience with multiple senior level positions in product management, strategic marketing, operations, engineering, and sales at startup, small/medium businesses, and Fortune 500 companies including IBM, Verizon, Brocade Communications, QLogic Corporation, Troika Networks, NDHS, and GoGuardian. He's successfully developed, managed, and owned multi-million dollar products and services and launched some of my own mobile apps, businesses, and ventures (www.gameday365.net, www.FightONMentality.com, www.tapstats.net, www.tapreels.net, www.dripdrops.info, www.360Shooter.net). He holds a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration on Global Marketing and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) both from the University of Southern California (USC).

Coaching Philosophy
I consider myself an “old school” type of coach whose number one goal is to help develop the character of every young man I coach.   My success has come from my ability to get my players to out-work their opponents and my ability to help them develop a superior “basketball IQ” than those we compete against.

I truly believe that I owe much of my coaching success to my struggles.  In my 18 years as a varsity coach I have NEVER recruited a single player.  Besides it being “illegal” according to CIF rules, I got into the coaching profession to match wits on a fair playing field.  Unfortunately today many of my coaching colleagues don’t subscribe to such a philosophy.  It hurts me to say that I have “lost” numerous talented players who transferred to other schools because of “un-do influence”.   The devastating part is that I have since run into many of them who whole heartedly regretted leaving as their “promises” never came into fruition.    My biggest heartbreaks have not come from losing basketball games but rather losing players I cared about due to recruiting.

In retrospect having less talent over the years has actually been a blessing.    It has allowed me to develop “out of the box” coaching strategies and techniques that have been extremely successful.   Such circumstances have ultimately helped equip me with insight to the game of basketball that I otherwise wouldn’t have.

Coaching Philosophy
I believe coaching is ALL ABOUT TEACHING, having the ability to teach, influence, and motivate players on an off the court.  While playing high school basketball in Las Vegas, Nevada I grew up loving the UNLV Runnin' Rebels and the coaching style of legendary Hall of Fame coach Jerry Tarkanian.  I became a student of the game and studied how Coach "Tark the Shark" implemented the ameoba defense and uptempo style of play.  In high school, my goal was to try to play basketball at the next level at a lower division school or make it as a walk-on player.  Although I did not receive any basketball scholarships, I did receive an academic scholarship to the USC Viterbi School of Engineering to pursue my studies.  While in college, I continued to play and coach the game, more at the recreational and intramural level.  I returned to USC to obtain my Master's in Business Administration and also continued to coach and play recreational basketball.  Through my extensive professional career in the high technology and computer industry, I've been able to see first hand how successful business teams, organizations, and units operate very similarly to successful basketball teams; showcasing unmatched levels of discipline, dedication, teamwork, loyalty, and perseverance.  Throughout my professional career, I have used the personal skills I learned in basketball to be very successful in business management, engineering, and entrepreneurship.  I want to continue to teach young players how to use the game of basketball to advance in their lives and be successful in anything they do, even if they don't have the skills and abilities to play at the next level.

Coaching youth basketball has become one of my true passions in life.  I am fortunate to be able to train and coach my oldest son, Reid, allowing him to compete at the highest levels for his age group.  It’s also a joy to see my youngest son, Logan, start picking up the game of basketball at such a young age.  Although my two boys and youth players view me as their "Basketball Coach" on the court, I am teaching basketball skills and lifelong lessons that players will keep with them forever.  Now, the ultimate goal is trying to develop and offer a long term sustainable basketball training program and opportunity for all young athletes in our community, allowing them to become great individuals on and off the court.
